Masters Choice
A badger blend made to imitate the original mongoose. Great for blending in Oils and Alla Prima, 'wet on wet'. The Masters Choice is soft but has enough spring to move the paint around. Well worth any oil painter trying this range!
Ivory Synthetic
The Ivory synthetic range is the perfect work-horse in Oils and Acrylics. They have sand-blasted the synthetic fibers with shards of glass to make the pushback against your canvas or board. They clean easily and wear down well.
Eclipse Synthetic
This synthetic range is made to mimic natural mongooses at a lower price. A softer synthetic, which is nice for Alla Prima and blending. Perfect in Oils and Acrylics.
Chungking Bristle
Chungking Bristle are bristles from hogs raised in the region of the Chinese city of Chungking and are considered to be the best for Oil painting, having long, deep flags. Theoretically the deeper the flags the better the bristle
Ultimate Bristle
Made with interlocked bristle hair, which offers the artist a traditional brush but with double the interlock. We take two equal amounts of the best quality Chinese bristle and set them opposite each other.
Classic Bristle
A long-awaited range designed for the traditional oil painter who likes the feel of a bristle brush and the brush mark achieved but doesn't like the durability and the way bristle can sometimes 'splay'.
Evergreen Synthetic
The Evergreen range is composed of 100% synthetic fibers, which give the brushes a fabulous spring and snap. The Evergreen range is a softer synthetic than the Ivory, but firmer than the Eclipse.
Shiraz Synthetic
A blend of somewhat 'firmer' Nylon filaments gives strength to the bristle yet offers a delicate feel through the brush stroke. The Shiraz range is extremely versatile for use with a medium.
Sable
Ideal for watercolor and oil. The natural characteristics of the hair offer a good 'belly' allowing liquid holding capacity greater than, for example, Nylon.
Golden Synthetics
Commonly called 'Nylon'. There are many types, both in the color of strand and diameter. Nylon has some unique characteristics in that its retention, snap, and spring are all superb.
